Main Classifications Of Dump Semi-trailers

Jul 18, 2026

Based on unloading methods, legally operating self-dumping semi-trailers on the market mainly fall into three categories: side-tipping self-dumping, standard rear-tipping self-dumping, and flatbed rear-tipping self-dumping. Side-tipping self-dumping trucks are easily limited by the constraints of unloading sites. Standard rear-tipping self-dumping trucks typically have a cargo box height of no more than 0.6 meters, resulting in a relatively small cargo box volume. Flatbed rear-tipping self-dumping trucks face the risk of being inspected for modification. In addition, there are container self-dumping semi-trailers, whose structure mainly consists of a container semi-trailer and a hydraulic lifting device.

Side-tipping self-dumping models include the Xinjinjun 13-meter side-tipping type (cargo box length 12.8 meters, width 2.46 meters, tare weight 7.5 tons), the Jianyu 13-meter side-tipping self-dumping semi-trailer (length 13 meters, tare weight 6.7 tons, load capacity 60 tons), the Hualiang Tianhong 11-meter side-tipping semi-trailer (length 11 meters, load capacity 40 tons), and the Donghua 13-meter side-tipping self-dumping truck (length 13 meters, tare weight 6.8 tons, load capacity 45 tons). Rear-tipping dump trucks include the Yuantengchi 9-meter rear-tipping model, the Gaoqiang Xinjinjun 10-meter rear-tipping dump semi-trailer (10 meters long, 7.4 tons tare weight, 40 tons payload), the Xinjinjun 9.5-meter rear-tipping dump semi-trailer (9.5 meters long, 6.9 tons tare weight, 40 tons payload), and the Hongtai 9-meter rear-tipping dump semi-trailer (9 meters long, 7.8 tons tare weight, 33.2 tons payload). Flatbed rear-tipping dump trucks include the Jianyu 8.5-meter flatbed rear-tipping dump semi-trailer (8.5 meters long, 8 tons tare weight, 60 tons payload). Container dump semi-trailers are mainly used for handling and unloading bulk container cargo at ports.
